When Alan & myself studied this wiring during a visit to his place in 2009 we found this change which may explain why a number of complaints of the resisters failing on 64/65's as stated by owners on this and other forums. The 66 has a resister wire #488 between the relay and the sender unit that is not present in the 64/65 wiring. The wiring for the 64/66 low fuel warning system is similar, wire colors and numbers may be different. Some one tell me is there anything else I can check? I am determined find out whats going on with this. Also did another test with th sending unit plugged in and out of the tank, I took a small jumper wire and went from the thermistor wire to the sending unit body and the relay clicked and the low fuel warning light came on. which is 3 prongs, when the key is on the first prong the test light will come on, the second prong the test light will blink off and on. I even did a test with a test light on the plug that plugs into the sending unit.

Both relays when you ground the green/white wire both relays click and the low fuel warning light comes on. I replaced the relay and still no low fuel warning light. I also checked the relay by grounding the green/white wire in the trunk. I put the two new ones in and still no low fuel warning lights.

The old one I soldered a thermistor on and no low fuel warning light came on. 2 new ones and the old one from Thunderbird Head Quarters.

The Bird Nest sent me 2 thermistors, so I have a total of three sending units. Thunderbird Head Quarters sent me a new sending unit. Ok Guys, did some more test on this low fuel warning light.
